Many studies across the globe and many individuals and spiritual leaders support meditation to fight anxiety.

Meditation for anxiety works wonders; let us see how it is done-

Meditation is the practice of training your brain to be aware of the surroundings and yet not get disturbed over anything that comes up your way. It is a way to calm your mind and body and keep negative thoughts at bay. The key aspect in mediating is focus, we need to focus our mind on our breathing, or a picture, or a repetitive mantra. It takes lot of time and patience to meditate. We will find more than often our brain wanders; the trick is to gently guide it back to meditation.

The Technique of Meditation

Meditation primarily consists of inhale-hold-exhale procedure. Choose a quiet place for meditation, you can also dim the lights and play soothing music to assist you. Take long breath in, hold it for some time until comfortable and then exhale it. While you exhale flush out all negative thoughts and feelings and concentrate only on your breathing. It will take time and practice, but with patience you will gradually feel the benefits of meditation.
