You might have the characteristics of low self esteem so deeply ingrained in you that you don’t even realise the signs of your behaviour.
Low self-esteem was once the cause of many of my problems.
I had been telling myself negative things about myself for way too long and had accepted all these things as the truth.
If you can relate to the characteristics below, you probably have low self esteem. Luckily there are many ways you can start to build up your confidence and self worth!
Characteristics of low self esteem
1. You feel other people are more important than you
2. When you buy things you blame yourself because you feel you don’t deserve them
3. You feel like you are a burden to other people
4. You suffer from anxiety and depression
5. You criticize yourself all the time when you look in the mirror. You do it quietly but also out loud
6. You delay making a decision for a very long time because you think that you will not make the right decision
7. You think other people don’t actually enjoy your company and are just being polite
8. You don’t try things because you are scared of failure
9. You are scared to talk in a conversation
10. You do not want to leave the house because you are afraid that something will throw you out of your comfort zone
11. You replay conversations again and again in your head
12. You don’t understand how your partner could possibly love you

You can retrain your brain and start to replace all the negative things you told yourself with positive things.
As low self esteem can lead to anger, depression and anxiety, I can’t stress how important it is to keep working on it. If you have never worked on your self esteem before, are a good place to start. If you have never worked on your assessment and your internal dialogue tells you that you are sucked, it’s time to start. For starters, positive affirmations for confidence are great.
