Inspirational Disney quotes can make you feel….errr….. inspired….. in just 10 seconds!!
When done as part of your morning ritual they can also be very powerful in motivating you to do something or change your life in some way.
You probably didn’t notice as a child, but Disney films are packed with loads of motivational and uplifting messages! This is of course just one of the many reasons why the Disney films are great.
Once you have chosen your favourite inspirational Disney quote, put it somewhere that you will see it each day. You could write it on a note and put it in your pocket, write it on your bathroom mirror, or even put the quote in a beautiful frame on your bedroom wall. This way it will have maximal impact and will remind you of how you want to living your life each day.
These are some of my favourite Disney quotes that inspire me when I need a bit of an uplift in my mood.
Inspirational Disney Quotes
“The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all.” – Emperor, Mulan
It’s hard if you go through life feeling like you don’t quite fit in. You might just get this feeling of being ‘different’ to everyone else – but can’t quite explain how.
Learning to appreciate how unique you are and celebrating the ways in which you are different from others is the best thing you could ever do for yourself. Who wants to be a sheep when you can be a flamingo?!
“Venture outside your comfort zone. The rewards are worth it.” – Rapunzel, Tangled
It is so easy to go through life staying inside your comfort zone because you are too terrified of what might happen if you make a change or do something different. It’s tough, because when you make a change you are faced with the uncertainty of not knowing how things will turn out.
Trying things outside our comfort zone is the only way we can keep bettering ourselves and improving our lives. Have faith that things will work out.
“Sometimes the right path is not the easiest one” – Grandmother Willow, Pocahontas
I think we have all probably been faced with a situation that we know the right thing that we should do, but for some reason just can’t do it.
It could be ending a relationship, quitting your job to follow your passion, or ending a toxic friendship.
Try and follow your gut instincts and be courageous to make the right choices for you. Deep down you probably know what you need to do.
“Life’s not a spectator sport. If watchin’ is all you’re gonna do, then you’re gonna watch your life go by without ya.” – Laverne, The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Sometimes you can be stuck in the same routine for years on end. You end up just existing, instead of living. Try a new hobby, speak to new people or travel to a new destination! Do anything that makes you feel alive.
“Your identity is your most valuable possession. Protect it.” Helen, The Incredibles
So true!! Sadly we live in a world where some people might think their most valuable possession is their heavily filtered selfies on instagram.
Your identity is the most special thing you have that sets you apart from everyone else. If you suffer from low self esteem, you might be disagreeing strongly with me right now…..
It’s ok, you just haven’t learned to truly value and appreciate yourself yet, but thankfully that can be changed. Loving and truly valuing yourself is the best feeling in the world.
“Oh yes, the past can hurt. But the way I see it, you can either run from it or learn from it.” Rafiki, The Lion King
We all have things in our past which we would rather forget or pretend didn’t happen. Sometimes we even repress these memories because they were so painful for us at the time.
Simba ran away from his past for years and spent most of his life believing he had done something so shameful and unforgivable. Until he chose to stop running and face the situation head on.
We can choose to keep running from our past and our painful memories. Or, we can face them head on, accept them and learn from them. If you have trouble doing this, reach out to a therapist for some help. You will become a much stronger versions of yourself through doing this.
“Change is good.” Rafiki, The Lion King
Change is so hard! But I also love change as it brings new and exciting experiences. Noone would want to live in a world where exactly the same thing happens every day for eternity.
Resisting change just makes it harder. Learn to accept it and see the possibilities and positive aspects the change will bring.
“You don’t have time to be timid. You must be bold and daring”. Lumière, Beauty and the Beast
I always think that the saddest thing would be someone coming to the end of their life, and realising that they had not lived their life to the fullest potential as they had been too scared of others people’s opinions.
Don’t let that be you – be true to yourself.
“When will my reflection show who I am inside?” – Mulan, Mulan
If you ever feel like you’re going along living someone else’s life, this quote is for you.
This pretty much sums up how I felt before I realised how much I had been shutting off my emotions and was too much of a general people pleaser. Being a people pleaser does you a lot of harm as you kind of lose your sense of self and what you really want after a while.
Spend some time getting back in touch with yourself and identifying what you truly want out of life.
“You’re only a fool if you give up.” – Creepy old man, Aladdin
I think this creepy man was Jafar in disguise actually – but he teaches a valuable lesson!
The only fools are those who stop trying and just give up. Keep trying to achieve your goal if it is important to you, and learn from your mistakes each time. You will get there.
“Look inside yourself, Simba. You are more than what you have become.” – Mufasa, The Lion King
Simba was so lucky having all these baboons and cloud lions giving him life advice the whole time.
Imagine someone coming to you half way through your life and telling you, ‘you are more than what you have become’. They hit you with this hard truth and you have nowhere to hide. We have to be this person for ourselves! Take time for journaling and reflection. Identify what it is you want, how to get there, and what is holding you back.
Do you feel like you are capable of more? You might already have this feeling every day that you are not fulfilling your true potential, but push it deep down as it is too uncomfortable.
Listen to that voice! Let it push you towards a life that is perfect for you.
“Just because it’s what’s done, doesn’t mean it’s what should be done.” – Cinderella, Cinderella
This quote is about having the confidence to do what you believe is right, even if it seems that everyone in the world is doing something else.
Have the confidence to challenge people and always ask questions if things don’t make sense to you – even if they don’t agree, people will respect you for it.
“A true hero isn’t measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart.” — Zeus, Hercules
People don’t really judge you by the amount of twitter followers you might have, they judge you on your personality and the good you have inside you. (If not, then those people probably aren’t worth hanging around…).
If you have been thinking of volunteering or helping out society in some way, start now. You will also start to see yourself in a more positive light.
“Remember you’re the one who can fill the world with sunshine.” — Snow White, Snow White
Sometimes it can seem like the world is a hostile place. All you want to do is go out for a leisurely walk, but within 10 minutes a car has angrily beeped at you and a stranger has shouted at you rudely walking too slowly and being in their way. (Although maybe that’s just London….?!)
There will always be these external challenges that we face every day.
What is important to remember, is that regardless of these things, you have the power to spread good in the world and have the control to be the amazing person that you want to be.
“Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind.” – Stitch, Lilo & Stitch
Family dynamics can be difficult. But, a healthy family should be there to support you no matter what. Don’t be afraid to reach out to your family for help when you need it. Also don’t forget to let them know how much they mean to you, as it’s easy to take them for granted!
“I never look back, darling! It distracts me from the now.” – Edna Mode, The Incredibles.
Edna Mode is all about living in the present moment. She probably has a slick morning mindfulness routine.
It is important to remember the past as it has taught us valuable lessons. However, if the past is all you think about then it’s going to weigh you down. We need to focus on each new day and working towards our personal goals. Feeling like we are working towards something is inspiring – try building a vision board if you need some help getting motivated!
“You must not let anyone define your limits because of where you come from. Your only limit is your soul.” — Gusteau, Ratatouille
Our whole lives are filled with people putting invisible limits on us. Some may have been to protect us from getting hurt as children, but we might still have these invisible beliefs weighing down on us that may no longer be useful.
Mindset and self belief are the most important factors when working towards a goal. Prove all those people wrong who said that you couldn’t do it.
“The very things that hold you down are going to lift you up.” — Timothy Mouse, Dumbo
Something you see as your worst flaw might actually become a strength to you one day. Look at what you consider your flaws to be, and analyse all the possible benefits each one might have.
I hope you enjoyed these inspirational quotes and they uplifted your day! Or maybe even motivated you to go and start watching your favourite Disney film….
